Press Release
Stone strategically makes move to become the number 1 choice system builder to the UKs public sector.
Stone, 19th November, 2009.
Stone Group, the UKs largest privately owned computer manufacturer, has announced to its staff that it has signed an agreement on new state-of-the-art facilities known as 'Stafford 88'.
The new site, located at Junction 13 of the M6 Stafford South, will consolidate both sites currently located in Stone and provide Stone Group with an opportunity to improve company systems and overall efficiency. The move is anticipated to begin in April, and conclude in May.
"Relocating to new, state of the art premises, demonstrates Stone's resilience in difficult times," says James Bird, CEO, Stone Group Ltd. "We are bucking the trend, driving forward faster and more profitably than any other UK system builder thanks to our strategy and dedicated people. The move is a result of our success, providing us with an opportunity to redesign our internal layout to better suit our company strategy for the future, and with more modern and efficient facilities, will position Stone Group as number one choice system builder to the UKs public sector. Stone is moving forwards with its strategic goals and we all agree we have very exciting times ahead."
Stafford 88 underlines Stone's commitment to planning and preparation which has kept them at the top of their game. Stone Group is already strategically engaged with top-ranking technology partners to deliver up-to-the-minute products to its customers. Receiving the stamp of approval for offering the levels of excellence, best-practice, value and support, on which top technology partners insist, Stone Group is an official supplier for tier one IT companies such as Intel, Samsung and NVIDIA, and boasts Gold level Microsoft certification. Stone Group also boasts the largest independently owned service team, with over 50 engineers and is the only UK manufacturer to operate its own on-site recycling facility - a result of a commendable, forward thinking environmental policy.
"We offer a complete buying process which encourages sustainable procurement to the UKs public sector," says James Bird, CEO, Stone Group Ltd. "From comprehensive leasing packages and bespoke IT solutions, through to our commitment to award winning after care service. We pride ourselves on the level of service we provide. Introducing our own recycling facilities was a landmark event in our company's history and set a precedent for future developments. We are the only UK manufacturer that can offer our customers the assurance that the disposal of PCs and other IT equipment will be carried out in line with WEEE regulations at our own recycling facilities, and always strive to introduce new and exciting ways to stay ahead of the competition."
