Press Release
PCA AIMS TO END CHANNEL CONFLICT
Cambridgeshire, 22nd March 2007.
The Professional Computing Association (PCA) plans to end event conflict in the channel with the launch of IT Channel Events, an online calendar of industry events.
"All too often, channel players and partners find that they are torn between attending different events taking place on the same day, and for many resellers taking time out more than once or twice in the same month can be challenging. Similarly, vendors and distributors may only find out when it's too late that their event conflicts with someone else's. By entering their events on our online event planner they can ensure there is minimum conflict and thus achieve maximum effectiveness" said Keith Warburton, CEO of the PCA. "In accordance with our aims of benefiting the whole channel and marketplace, we are offering this service free to the whole industry."
Listing on IT Channel Events is free. Vendors and distributors wanting to have their event shown should do so via the trade pages on the PCA website at www.pcauk.org. The direct link to the planner is http://www.professionalcomputingassociation.com/index.php
The idea for IT Channel Events came about last year when it was discovered that three reseller organisations, with many members in common, were holding major events within ten days of each other.
Although the PCA itself will endeavour to list all major trade shows on the planner, it is up to individual organisations to ensure their own seminars, roadshows, conferences, training days, golf days, fun days and other events are listed. They may do this simply by submitting a request via the event planner. Submissions will be vetted before the events are listed.
