GETAC unveils the new PS535E fully-rugged GPS PDA.

GETAC Inc., specialist rugged mobile computer manufacturer is set to unveil the latest offering from its comprehensive portfolio of rugged solutions, the GETAC PS535E fully-rugged GPS PDA, the most versatile and feature packed rugged mobile device to date.
The new GETAC PS535E fully-rugged GPS navigation and positioning device boasts an industry leading footprint measuring a mere 144.25mm x 82.25mm x 29.3mm and weighing in at only 300grammes. It is supplied as standard with a 400MHz processor, 64MB flash memory and 2GB embedded memory storage which can easily be upgraded to 6GB for memory hungry GIS applications.
A tough and reliable industrial PDA that has been built to survive, as well as work hard, the PS535E is the ideal mobile computing solution for engineering and construction, land surveying, public safety, field service, utilities, military, mapping and other outdoor/service related fields, capable of handling the relevant advanced and powerful applications within these sectors and featuring as standard Windows Mobile 5.
The PS535E is also supplied as standard with integrated Bluetooth Technology and 802.11b/g WiFi capability and boasts an embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver which allows users to easily collect, save and transmit data while in the field and provides fast and accurate positioning data for navigation.
Specific field applications are also available as configurable upgrades, such as secure Digital IO slots allowing users to add additional devices such as memory and RFID.
As well as featuring a high end specification as standard, the PS535E also offers market leading battery performance, with a rechargeable Li-ION battery providing users with 8 hours or more of active use without a recharge for all day power. The PS535E also features a sunlight-readable QVGA touch-screen display. GETAC is a leader in developing Sunlight Readable Technology for its hardware. Sunlight Readable Technology intensifies an LCD's visibility, making the display more readable and therefore usable under intensely bright outdoor conditions. The PS535E's screen is sharp, clear and bright, displaying detailed maps, and graphic intensive files in unmatchable detail.
Working in the field can present a number of obstacles that can interrupt working on mobile computing devices, the PS535E has been designed to overcome such obstacles to ensure continuous use and eliminate unnecessary and avoidable down times. It features a magnesium alloy structure design with hand strap for convenient transport and a screen cover to protect the unit from knocks and as with all GETAC rugged handheld computers, the PS535E meets the MIL-STD-810F and IP54 requirements which ensure the unit is resistant to water, such as heavy rain, dust and debris, often a major cause of hardware failure when used in environments such as construction sites, and accidental drops. The PS535E's construction qualities ensure the unit is always protected and that valuable data and consequently time is never lost, contributing to a lower failure rate of the hardware, lowering the overall cost of ownership.
