GETAC Showcases Military-Ready Rugged Mobile Computers at DSEi 2009

GETAC Technology Corp., the world's third largest specialist rugged mobile computing solutions manufacturer, is pleased to announce that it will be showcasing its military-ready rugged mobile computer portfolio at DSEi 2009. Utilising the world's largest, fully integrated defense and security exhibition to demonstrate its specialist defense, security and military R&D experience to this sector's experts, Getac with exhibit the V100, B300, M230 and A790 fully-rugged notebooks.
Getac V100
The innovative new V100 Getac's ultra-light hybrid Notebook/Tablet PC solution, features supreme performance, memory, storage and wireless capabilities and is one of Getac's most advanced rugged mobile computer solutions for the defense sector. Designed from the bottom up to meet the high rugged standards of military and law enforcement applications, the V100 can withstand some of the most extreme conditions in almost any environment. The V100's removable hard drive is shielded by a protection mechanism to prevent damage during operation. It includes; anti vibration rubber, ideal for use during transport across rough terrain; and anti shock housing for circumstances when drops may occur. The HDD is also prepared for extreme temperatures, with a specifically designed optional HDD heater combined with low temperature battery the V100 will continue to work in temperatures down to -20?C. The V100's display can be customised to include 1200cd/msq sunlight readable technology to ensure clear visibility in high sunlight conditions.
Getac B300
The B300 fully rugged notebook is a prime example of Getac's experience and manufacturing capability for the military sector. Packed with all the latest Getac technologies, the B300 is a ready-made solution for a wide use of military, defense and security applications. The B300 features; a revolutionary Sunlight-Readable LCD display of 1200cd/msq (optional), the most advanced Sunlight Readable Technology currently available; meets MIL-STD-810F 509.4 to ensure Salt Fog protection; is MIL-STD-3009 compliant, making it the first rugged notebook with 'Night Vision' mode, meaning the screen can be seen when wearing night vision goggles; and includes a Black-Out mode allowing users to easily turn off all lights to avoid being conspicuous in darkened conditions and exposing a current location. The B300 also boasts 12 hours battery life with its onboard 9 cell battery making it ideal for use in environments where a power source is unavailable and features a lightweight design for portability.
Getac M230
The M230 is the ideal solution for graphic intense applications such as use with radar or navigation systems. Designed with ESRI software users in mind, the M230 is available with either a 14" or 15" high resolution display, the largest screen sizes available in a rugged laptop format, and features NVIDIA discreet graphics for enhanced graphical performance. The M230 offers high specification options and a plethora of state-of-the-art upgrades and add-ons to be fully customisable. All of the M230 features are wrapped up in a fully-rugged, ultra-portable and slim design that meets MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards for durability under extreme conditions.
Getac A790
The A790 is Getac's ultra fully-rugged notebook designed for fixed location use such as field command centers, in-vehicle or as part of a military server system. Not only does it meet MIL-STD-810F and IP54, it satisfies critical EMI requirements. It is equipped with a high tech 'active protection function' that protects the HDD from damage during sudden drops, and sealed I/O caps and doors which prevent solid particles such as dust and moisture from entering the unit. It also ensures continuous, stable operation under extreme ambient temperatures (-20șC to 55șC). The GETAC A790 is not only MIL-STD tough structurally, it also possesses impenetrable defensive capabilities, rejecting unauthorised access thus protecting confidential information, with Trust Platform Module (TPM 1.2), optional Biometric Fingerprint Reader and smart card reader. Offering extreme versatility and expandability, the A790 possesses multi-bays for customised applications. A media bay, an X-bay and an expansion unit offer abounding options such as; DVD combo and Dual DVD, increased storage capacity by adding an additional HDD, or super extended battery life with two auxiliary batteries. The A790 also boasts a rich connectivity interface which includes two-four PCMCIA slots, two USB 2.0 ports, two PCI-Express slots, a fixed floppy drive, two RS232/422 ports and much more.
